Be Whole

teaology bewhole

There’s a new cosmetics brand in town and if you love tea and beautiful skin, you’re going to love Teaology.

This new-to-South-Africa vegan skincare was born in Italy after the founder, Celicia Garofano, spent 40 years refining her skills in the European cosmetics industry.

Her love for tea drew her to the concept of tea-infused skincare and with all the benefits we know tea to have, a brand like this was a no-brainer. The hard part, I’m guessing, must have been to put her ideas to action. She teamed up with chemists to perfect the formulas and here Teaology is, a fast-growing business sold in over 27 countries. Now available in South Africa for us to enjoy.

How amazing!

When I think of self-care, I imagine myself enjoying some uninterrupted time out on the patio, sipping hot tea. As you’re reading this, half a cup of tea stands across for me, on a table where I’m working. Needless to say that I’m a fan of tea.

Here’s a look at my first encounter with the brand: on Instagram. I already have favourites and I’m eager for you to try them too.

There is something for all skin types. If you aren’t a fan of granulated exfoliators (which I happen to love) you could opt for cleansing micellar water, infused with black tea and rose water. And if you head to their website, you’ll see a range of moisturisers to treat your skin concern. If you haven’t tried Tealogy but would love to, this is your chance to win a skincare hamper valued at over R2000.

What’s in your hamper:

Black Matcha Micellar Jelly Cleanser, R399

This is an exfoliating cleanser infused with charcoal pearls, plant-based and alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). The latter removes dead skin cells and help your skin absorb moisture well, and of course, Matcha tea which has major anti-aging benefits.

Miracle Face and Neck Mask, R135

Let’s not leave your neck out of the equation! That’s where signs of aging show up first you know – there and your hands – so I’m all for a mask infused with argan oil, omega 6, and matcha tea.

Matcha Tea Ultra Firming Eye Cream, R699

When you’re experiencing tired eyes and you need to depuff, smooth and brighten up your eye area, this eye cream will come in handy. It’s infused with vitamin E oil, vitamin C, and sunflower oil.

Matcha Fresh Cream, R750

Here’s a day and night moisturiser with hyaluronic acid. It’s light as a gel and as nourishing as rich cream. I’ve tried it and the texture and hydration are impressive. Place your cream in the fridge for 5 minutes before applying for added benefits.

Pore Cleanisng Stick, R425

Have you ever started exfoliating and ended up with messy hands and a messy sink? Every time, I’m guessing, if you’re using a product with granules because the beads go everywhere and they usually stick to your hands and the surface you’re working at. This is why I am such a fan of the pore cleansing stick. It’s a roll-on exfoliator that you can apply without getting your hands messy and you can simply remove the product with a wet face cloth after. The granules are made of rice, green tea extract, and bamboo particles, which gave me a radiant glow.
